My name is Guy Paterson-Jones. I am currently a third year undergraduate at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

I have two huge passions – mathematics and rock climbing. The former is what I write about on this blog, and as one will perhaps note I am especially fond of algebraic topology. Pretty much any mathematical topic fascinates me, however, and I have very eclectic reading habits. I intend to pursue mathematics as far as I can, and let my interests take me where they will.

Rock climbing is more my lifestyle than a sport. For those in the know, my discipline of choice is big wall traditional climbing, but I do a fair amount of bouldering and sport as well. It’s a great way to get to some awesome places!
